Detlef Scheunert was born in 1960 in Dornreichenbach (Leipzig) and graduated in Engineering in Dresden. He was assistant to the Ministry of Engineering in the former GDR, from 1990 to 1994 he was Director of the Treuhandanstalt and was responsible for the privatisation of GDR companies during the “Wende” and the German reunification process.
Since 1994, he has worked as managing director and manager.
