The Gramsci Emilia-Romagna Foundation, the University of Bielefeld, the Institute of Contemporary History in Prague, the City of Tirana and the History Meeting House in Warsaw will collect – following the methodologies offered by oral history and memory studies – a series of video interviews with citizens who, from different backgrounds and for different reasons, have experienced the fall of the Wall and the events that produced and followed it.
The aim of Breaching the Walls is to highlight the polyphony of the national narratives of 1989, aware that only the critical and comparative consideration of their differences can allow an excavation in the processes of European identity construction and its most problematic nodes.
In this page will be available some clips extracted from the video interviews, which will be available in full in the archives of the promoters of the project
